Finally Modified the TDI
Hello, Its been awhile since I been on the board but since then I have made some changes to the jetta. I swapped injectors for a set of bosio .216 DLC that have been balanced and tested as well as tune from Kermatdi. Gotta say I am impressed. this is the way this car should have came from the factory. It does smoke a little more but I am pretty sure that is due to a clogged intake 125k and I don't think it has ever been cleaned. The injectors were actually easier than I thought to change out and the remap was easy to do as well (still need a vagcom to run some tests but I have to wait until I can borrow somebody). Now I just need to find a Dyno...are there any in Great Falls? Once I get the intake cleaned I will be curious as to my hp/tq.....any guesses? I bet 140 hp/215 tq.

Re: Finally Modified the TDI
Hey, I've been without internet for awhile which is why I have not posted.
So, I can't honestly say that I have no boost creep as I don't have a boost gauge (next purchase soon I hope). I need to borrow a vagcom to really dial everything in. Heres what I can say, the power is amazing, and even at WOT there is little smoke. According to all the research I have been doing the ALH (with the Garrett turbo) were not prone to boost creep with the mods I did. In talking to Paul @ KERMAtdi he assured that with the injectors I was using plus with a mild tune that I wouldn't see it ( I was pretty clear that I didn't want the power at the expense of reliability). I guess the BEW's are more prone to boost creep because they switched to a bogg warner (sp?) turbo. Having the intake cleaned (replaced) made a huge difference! So far no CEL's and only went into limp mode once and I am pretty sure that was because of a combination of being severely cold and a serverly plugged intake.

Re: Finally Modified the TDI
Oh and one other thing along the modifications topic.
The other day I had the Panzer plate (skid plate) off and for anybody who asks if they are worth it I say with a 100% yes! In fact that would be the first thing I would add. I need to figure out pictures but mine has scrapes in it that would have easily ruined an oil pan. Yes it is heavy but it has saved my pan so many times, especially with this snow the chunks of ice can be pretty hard. Plus, when the snow gets really deep your jetta is now a sled!

Is your car silver? Did you try to race a silver golf a few days ago?
If it was you, your car smokes like crazy.

Re: Finally Modified the TDI
haha yes that was me! yes it did smoke...that was before the intake cleaning...now it isn't near as bad especially when warm. I had to try to race you.....I couldn't believe I found another TDI that was modded. Yours looked much cleaner than mine. How many miles on it?
