New bosch upstream o2 fixed my lamda heater issue. Cheapest one I've ever bought, 57$ with an OE plug on it! :)

With these issues sorted, I think I will try the Unitronic tune again.

Just curious, but isn't the heating element just for cold starts? I always thought that after the car was warm it didn't matter to the ecu that the o2 sensor was cold at startup. Or does it change the map significantly at first and affect performance?

From what I can tell......
The heater is to get an accurate reading sooner. The system readiness never completes if this does not work. For the system to do its closed loop lambda, everything needs to be working and accounted for. I had to do resistor deletes and leave some of the solenoids in place for the EGR and SAI junk.

Getting ready for some track torture, so I did an oil change today at 163,000. I've been driving this swap for 3 years and 10,000 miles!! No major issues to speak of. :thumbsup: :beer:

Man I love that car! Upgrading brakes or just replacing calipers and such? Super dot4? Somehow better than normal dot4 but doesn't meet the standards to be called dot5 or something?

Stock front brakes on the GLI 10.1" rotors, and MK4 rears. Can't hurt. Seems like my rears have been dragging so I figured I'd replace them all. Not sure why super4. They don't sell the super blue racing any more so this is the replacement. Its not blue, and there's no racecar or checkered flag on the bottle :(
