His parts have always done me well. Some seemed pricey, occasionally the shipping is retarded. I got both of those parts shipped for $90

Maybe you got lucky because the parts are Type 1. I guess in my case I purchased some Type 2 parts and now think he has not a clue about Type 2/4 engines. But I do give him credit for a clean no hassle refund.

Didn't say he was a bad guy. He did refund my purchase. It was just I ordered a set of Type 4 1800 heads. The heads he shipped was for a 1700 and a 2.0l Type 4. Both of which have different size combustion chambers and vales between the two heads. And both are different sizes from the 1800. I'm sure he's a cool dude. Just doesn't know Type 4 engines I guess. Anyways glad he was able to hook ya up. :)

Steering box went in easy. I haven't taken it out for a spin yet, but there is a huge difference in the play in the steering wheel. About 1/4-1/2" in either direction compared to the 1/2 turn in either direction that that cheap Chinese steering box had. Starter went in fine too, but wouldn't crank, checked the battery and it had 9v. Charged it for a while, started right up. Let it run for a while, shut her down, wont restart. Checked voltage at the battery 8v, with the key on dropped to 6v. Time for a new battery.

Did some adjustments and ran it in the garage today. With the out side temp and the external oil cooler/fan it doesn't warm up until you take it out and drive it. I think it is time to adjust the valves. A new development, when it does get warmed up the crank pulley rubs against one of the cooling tins. That external oil filter/pump combo pushes the tin pretty close to the pulley. I really have not driven it much since I installed the sand seal pulley. The process of self clearancing has begun. Took it out for a short cruise, runs good, the steering box has made it so much easier to drive. I'm thinking of ditching my 009 distributor for a stock one. I don't like the dead spot that the 009s seem to have at idle. Anyone have one laying around in good shape?
