Check the ground buss by the hood release! Had similar issues with my jetta. The entire thing was a poor ground so I grounded it.

looks like i need a cluster... I took it apart and found some cracks in the soldering and tried to repair it. now the temp and gas gauge don't work at all. i replaced the voltage regulator and that didn't work either.... and i'm guessing no one on here has a b3 gauge cluster?

just took this awesome car for a two day camping adventure and it loved every minute of it. Right before we left, i noticed that some sort of regulator on the side of the fuel distributor was leaking. replaced it with a spare from the pile of parts that came with the car and no more leaks and she starts up a lot easier now too!

Not the biggest fan of the two pump system, especially the leaky under-car pump/filter section. That's what mine has anyway, is hers single pump?

Should be the same dual pump setup. The CIS cars require the high pressure setup.
