12x36 metal lathe

Postby 4est on Aug Sun 14, 2016 10:41 am

Selling my trusty old machine. See the Craigslist add.

Asking 750 on CL.
Would sell it for 600 to someone here.

I've threaded barrels, made random parts, bushings, washers, modified hardware, sharpen pencils.

Sold.
I delivered it to the new owner, we took it off the truck and put it inside a Eurovan. True story. It was... interesting. Buys a lathe to put in VW van.. classic.

Basically a grand slam, the 750 buys me a new lathe and the rental fee of a machine capable of moving 4500lbs of pure American iron.

Who finds a ww2 era Lodge and Shipley lathe for 500 at a garage sale across from my kids daycare? Me. That's who. Woot.

Deal. We are going to pick it up tomorrow. A highlight will be driving the monster telehandler through east Helena!

Story is this machine came from a ship. I have yet to nail down the year. 1940s, my guess is 44. Straight up Nazi Killer! f-ya
