1. Check for boost leaks. It could be as simple as blowing a hose. I've done it a couple times.CBCGSXR1000 wrote:I dont know what with it spuders at 30000 and 40000 all gears.
Power loss- seems like it has less power then the first few days.
Any ideas?
Could my turbo be going out?
2. Don't trust the "butt dyno."
3. Got a VAG? Run a couple logs and see what you come up with. It'll tell you what's going on.
4. Call Aeron and get him to fix it. He put it in, he should fix it :P Incidentally, i have been curious about his first couple of tunes :P
Did you take out the N75? Did you also upgrade your DV?

"Stages" is simply a way of shortcutting your level of modification. It's measured a variety of ways I've never found a particular designation. It also depends on the specific manufacturer.Big Montana wrote:Sorry for my ignorance but i'm really trying to learn this. Ok so a stage three must be better than a stage two right?
Do need a turbo to install a stage two or three?
What does your motor have to have on it before a Stage two or three goes in it? For example to you have to buy the moded exhaust, and all of the mods?
And lastly how much for a complete stage two set up with mods, and how much for a complete stage three set up with mods.
Just curious for the future.
Typically "Stage 3" means you have an upgraded turbo (not stock) turbo. In all stages, certain mods are required for things to run correctly. If you have an upgraded turbo, things are needed for your car to run safely and reliably, for example.
It's all relative. People call my setup "stage 1+" "1' denotes that I'm chipped and "+" denotes that I have upgraded injectors. There's so much more involved, you just read someone's spec sheet.
I don't really like the terms as they're easily misunderstood and there's no solid definition. On the boards here recently "stage 1/2" has simply been in reference to what REVO calls their programming levels.

Yup. Chips will generally change the torque curve (ie. WHEN you get all your power vs. MORE power). You'll free up a lot on a VR6 by starting with an intake and exhaust. Then get a little deeper into the aforementioned cams. Suspension is always a must.Big Montana wrote:What if it is an automatic, it can still be chipped right?
You're getting misfire codes with Revo? Strange. I don't. Are your coilpacks good (it's common to blow them upon chipping)? Have you cleared then see what's popped back up (any of those from previous issues)?CBCGSXR1000 wrote:Yep did all that he is working with me just hard cuz hes in zootown.
I got 14 codes now i thinks p0303 is the one giving me truble.
...welcome to modding a VAG product

I think he has a serios grounding issue with his car. He sent me the codes and nothing is related to the Revo tuning, but it is all electrical, and some of it is very odd. We have been working on it over the phone and such. I think there is a relay in there somewhere that is bugging out or something....

Chris (and Aeron), I could take a look and see if I notice anything strange or a cable not hooked up etc. Not trying to butt in, but if I can help let me know.
