Ran power to the today through the fuse box for my aftermarket stereo amps. its not switched but is fused. I put a 40w in the box and a 10w in each one of the power supply lines to be safe. they work great.

i was wondering if there was a way to make the power cable from the battery to the amp switched with the ignition? thanks for the help

Your amp is switched through your head unit. Your amp in intended to be connected to the battery constantly. You don't want that heavy amperage going on and off to the amp, it will fry stuff. The head unit turns an internal relay in the amp on and off for you. You DO want to add switched power to those heaters right now. If you don't you will forget that you left one on one day, and either it will kill your battery, or may catch your car on fire.

Toggle switch from a key-on source to a 12v relay.
